Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the world.</p><p><strong>Primary Responsibilities</strong></p><p>In the role of<strong>Mid-Atlantic Data Center/Mission Critical Technical Team Lead</strong>, we\'ll count on you to build and lead a team of technical experts in data center design, support project delivery, and assist with marketing activities and pursuits with key clients in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) market sector.</p><p>This role will help drive the success of our practice with leadership in the following areas:</p><p><strong>Technical Team Building and Leadership</strong></p><ul><li>Attract and recruit engineering staff to serve as subject matter experts (SMEs) within our core and specialty disciplines for data center design projects.</li><li>Assign work and monitor workload among the team SMEs.</li><li>Coordinate staffing and workload with other data center design teams.</li><li>Provide mentoring and opportunities for team growth and development.</li></ul><p><strong>Project Management and Project Production</strong></p><ul><li>Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of large multi-discipline projects or medium-sized projects with a high degree of technical complexity.</li><li>Oversee project delivery and effective implementation of the QA/QC program.</li><li>Facilitate effective collaboration within project teams and eliminate hurdles and barriers to success.</li><li>Support complex engineering projects in market sectors beyond TMT as called upon.</li><li>Collaborate with local discipline leads on project staffing, project technical support, and project pursuits.</li><li>Work with area business group leadership to implement process improvements, facilitate work sharing and assist in applying key staff/expertise to projects.</li></ul><p><strong>Marketing and Client Relations</strong></p><ul><li>Assist with proposal, fee preparation, and staffing for project pursuits.</li><li>Assist the TMT leadership team with assessing and developing opportunities in the area and national marketplace as directed by market sector leadership.</li><li>Perform other tasks to support the TMT market sector in the area as called upon by area and market sector leadership.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>10-15 years of experiencing designing, delivering, and managing large, complex data center/mission critical projects.</li><li>A licensed professional engineer with a background in mechanical, electrical, or structural design, or a project manager with PMP certification.</li><li>Local to the Northern Virginia area.</li><li>Active in industry and business associations / organizations.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li></ul><p>#LI-BM1</p><p><b>Required Qualifications</b><br></p><ul><li>Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience</li><li>A minimum of 7 years experience</li><li>Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role</li><li>Strong communication and listening skills</li><li>Ability to handle multiple assignments</li><li>Good leadership and organizational skills</li><li>An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must</li></ul><p><b>What We Believe</b><br>HDR is our company.
