Job description: We are hiring Healthcare Call Center Representative in the Pacific Time Zone! Please read the requirements and apply if you feel like you are a match for this role! If you are selected for this role you will have the opportunity to work in an energetic, fast-paced environment. Will be required to manage a high volume of customer-facing tasks daily or be responsible for quickly and accurately performing data entry in the program's tracking system. You will be responsible for serving as the customer's primary point of contact providing operational and reimbursement support to complex programs, including, but not limited to, marketing support, reimbursement hotlines, and patient assistance programs.

Pay Rate : $17.50

Duration: 3-6 Month Contract- could be offered a permanent position depending on the performance

Start Date: January 16th ( No time off will be approved for the first 6 weeks)

Location : 100% Remote

Hours:

  • Shift hours will fall between: 5:30am-5pm PST - 8:30a-8:00pm EST (You must be open between these hours without any schedule restrictions)
Essential Job Duties:
  • Quickly and efficiently respond to incoming calls and identify how best to assist.
  • Document calls to inappropriate tracking systems, and handle/escalate calls per established procedures.
  • Possibly coordinate prior authorizations, and investigate alternative insurance coverage, or other funding sources on behalf of the patients per the program specifications.
  • Process patient applications of various complexities and follow the program's specifications to determine their eligibility.
  • Place follow-up calls and respond to inquiries from patients and/or healthcare providers, as necessary.
  • Liaise with partner distributors and pharmaceutical manufacturers to request products per the program's guidelines and track shipments.
  • Coordinate the order and transfer of prescriptions based on their degrees of urgency to specialty pharmacies
  • Assist with training new team members by shadowing/reverse shadowing them and serving as a data checker by reviewing data entered in the program's tracking system.
  • Maintain a professional, calm, and friendly demeanor. Express thoughts and instructions clearly in both verbal and written communication, i.e. use grammatically correct and concise language.
MUST Have Experience Required:

2-4 Years of prior experience in the healthcare and reimbursement industry is a REQUIREMENT
  • 1 + Call center experience in any industry
  • Insurance benefits verification, authorization or investigation support
  • Computer/technology experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Major medical experience preferred
  • Buy and bill experience preferred
  • Specialty pharmacy is a plus
Skills Required :
  • The Program Specialist must be a proven problem solver with the ability, drive, and initiative to learn the required healthcare, reimbursement, and customer service skills necessary to support the assigned program(s).
  • Easily navigate between multiple computer programs with dexterity.
  • Adheres to schedule and meets deadlines.
  • Demonstrate solid customer service skills in prior office, retail, or volunteer work.
  • Understand each customer's needs and tailor's responses with those needs in mind and express empathy while speaking with customers.
  • Be motivated to help customers every day and operate with a sense of accountability and urgency to adhere to schedule and meets deadlines.
  • Express thoughts and instructions clearly in both oral and written communication i.e. uses grammatically correct, concise language.
  • Pay close attention to detail and consistently be a keen problem solver.
Educational Requirements :
  • A Bachelor's degree or evidence of continual work towards a degree is strongly preferred.
  • Specialists without a AA/BA degree must have a High School Diploma or GED, and ideally should have 4 years in the healthcare industry
