The ideal candidate will have previous experience in low voltage estimating. We are offering a competitive salary commensurate with experience. Responsibilities:

  • Conducts site visits (pre-estimate) to develop a clear understanding of the project and estimate requirements
  • Prepares cost estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements
  • Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
  • Performs necessary research to produce accurate, complete, and competitive pricing
  • Reads and thoroughly understand blueprints, specifications, contract documents, and various systems
  • Prepares estimates and purchase orders in detail for all products
  • Uses originality and ingenuity to translate a wide variety of customer needs/requirements into detailed proposals and project plans
  • Identifies potential project risks and develop/implement strategies to minimize the impact on estimated costs
  • Verifies material pricing with vendors and manufacturers for the creation of proposals and estimates
  • Reviews of all scope of work terms and conditions in customer contracts to ensure design meets any and all requirements
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Skills and requirements:

  • 2+ years experience in low voltage estimating or alarm systems installation
  • Access Control and Alarm Systems devices and wiring knowledge
  • Strong analytical skills necessary to solve problems
  • Strong understanding of residential/commercial building structures
  • Able to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates
