Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Middle School Math Teacher to join our crew. The ideal candidate will bring deep content knowledge, culturally responsive teaching practices, and a commitment to fostering a love of mathematics in every student. This role includes teaching four core math classes (grades 7–8), collaborating with colleagues across disciplines, and contributing to the life of the school community.

Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit a growth mindset and a strong commitment to continuous improvement by learning and applying innovative, research-driven best practices in mathematics
  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned math instruction that meets the needs of diverse learners
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction
  • Create a classroom environment that encourages student voice, risk-taking, and mathematical thinking
  • Collaborate with grade-level and content teams to align curriculum and share best practices
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Participate in professional learning, staff meetings, and school-wide initiatives
  • Support students’ social-emotional growth and contribute to a respectful, inclusive school culture

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field (required)
  • Valid teaching certification
  • Experience teaching middle school students in a math-focused classroom
  • Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to equity, anti-racism, and culturally responsive pedagogy

Preferred Qualities:

  • Experience integrating real-world math applications and project-based learning
  • Familiarity with Common Core State Standards and/or state-specific standards
  • Comfort using technology to enhance learning (e.g., Desmos, Khan Academy, Google Classroom, IXL)
  • Bilingual or multilingual candidates encouraged to apply
