Role Overview

We are looking for a high-energy, positive, and hands-on Social Media & Marketing Assistant to support our digital marketing and day-to-day office presence. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and thrives in a small, family-run business environment where everyone pitches in.

You’ll work closely with a small team, have real ownership over your work, and see the direct impact of your efforts. No big-company red tape—just meaningful work, collaboration, and growth.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management

  • Plan, schedule, and publish content across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and others as needed)
  • Write engaging captions aligned with brand voice and values
  • Monitor comments, messages, and engagement; respond and flag as needed
  • Track performance metrics and assist with basic reporting (reach, engagement, growth)

Content Creation & Support

  • Assist with creating short-form content (reels, stories, posts, behind-the-scenes)
  • Help source and organize photos and videos from fishermen, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Coordinate simple shoots or content requests when needed
  • Maintain a content calendar

Marketing & Brand Support

  • Assist with email marketing (campaign setup, drafts, basic graphics, scheduling)
  • Support product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns
  • Help maintain consistent branding across all channels
  • Assist with website updates, blog posts, or landing pages (as needed)

Shop & Customer Support

  • Greet and assist occasional walk-in customers at our little seafood shop attached to our office & fulfillment center
  • Answer basic questions about products, pricing, and availability both in person and online
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure a positive customer experience
  • Keep the front office/shop area stocked, organized and welcoming

Administrative & Coordination Tasks

  • Organize marketing assets and files
  • Research trends, competitors, and ideas in food, seafood, and e-commerce
  • Support collaborations with influencers, partners, or affiliates
  • Assist with hosting chef and customer events (~6 per year)

Required Qualifications

  • Experience or strong interest in social media and digital marketing
  • Excellent written communication skills in English
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Comfortable using Instagram, Facebook, and short-form video platforms
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Passion for food, sustainability, or e-commerce is a strong plus

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Hands-on experience managing Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for a business or brand
  • Experience creating content and graphics using Canva and CapCut
  • Familiarity with Meta Business Suite and Meta Ads Manager (posting, scheduling, basic ads)
  • Experience using Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets)
  • Experience with Klaviyo or other email marketing platforms
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Comfortable learning new tools and systems, as needed
