TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST – IT OPERATIONS

IT – SANFORD, NC

The IT Operations Specialist provides support through proactive monitoring of Data Center infrastructure, production job schedules, and Global infrastructure company wide. This role will perform work per established operating policies and procedures, maintain and improve upon documentation, provide support, notification and follow-through to business areas, internal customers and management. A shift work schedule is required to support a 24x7 attended Data Center environment.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Monitors the Enterprise Infrastructure Worldwide
  • Detects and responds to all Global Infrastructure Alerts and escalates as needed
  • Uses monitoring tools to determine the nature of any outages and follows strict online procedures to resolve issues
  • Responds to Priority 1 incidents by managing the incident request and involving support teams
  • Supports Network and Enterprise Computing Teams with first level support, provides Data Center remote support to IT Customers, aides in troubleshooting and providing issue resolution.
  • Utilizes network support portals to identify network WAN, LAN and WLC incidents
  • Manage and Monitor Enterprise Job Scheduling utilizing the associated job run book to reach and resolve any issues.
  • Writes Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and maintains content of current documentation for the Operations Team
  • Identifies and presents opportunities to improve operational procedures and documentation
  • Manages Enterprise Global IT support calls and tracks and closes trouble tickets
  • Assists in projects for both internal/external customer installation through coordinating facility services, equipment, and cabling in preparation for customer installations
  • Prepares daily shift turnover report, updating throughout the shift to ensure all shift activities are performed, documented, and communicated
  • Escalates all issues outside of normal operations using appropriate methods
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

We’d love to see candidates who have:

 

Essential:

  • High School Graduate with Computer System Degree and/or IT Certifications/Training
  • Two (1) to three (2) years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Technical aptitude and eagerness to learn
  • Organizational skills
  • Team player
  • Communication skills

 

Desirable:

  • Degree in Computer related field preferred
