About the position

The G600 Captain at Jet Aviation Staffing is a pivotal role responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of flight assignments. Reporting directly to the lead captain, the pilot in command must ensure adherence to company operating policies and procedures while prioritizing safety, security, and quality throughout all flight operations. This position requires a high level of expertise and authority, as the captain is the final decision-maker for the safe conduct of each flight. The role demands a comprehensive understanding of aircraft systems, emergency procedures, and the ability to manage flight operations under varying conditions. The captain is also responsible for maintaining communication with the second in command, ensuring they are well-prepared to assume duties in emergencies or when upgrading to pilot in command. In addition to operational responsibilities, the G600 Captain must accurately complete all trip paperwork, maintain a thorough understanding of weather conditions, and ensure compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations. The captain will also be tasked with conducting passenger safety briefings, managing flight crew readiness, and reporting any safety hazards or discrepancies to the appropriate authorities. This role is not only about flying but also about representing Jet Aviation as a brand ambassador, ensuring that all interactions reflect the company's values of trust, honesty, and transparency.   • Safely operate the aircraft, determine departure times and routes, and/or cancel flights based on weather or other conditions.
  • Ensure that the flight is conducted in complete compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations and policies and procedures.
  • Institute all necessary changes as required by en route conditions such that the flight may continue under appropriate company policies, procedures and rules.
  • Conduct the flight in a safe and prudent manner in accordance with industry and company standards.
  • Accurate completion of all trip paperwork in accordance with current procedures.
  • Ensure a thorough and complete understanding with the second in command regarding all aspects of flight.
  • Record all aircraft discrepancies as they occur on the aircraft discrepancy log and report these discrepancies to the director of maintenance or their designee.
  • Determine that the flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and that they are mentally and physically fit for duty.
  • Maintain a complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems which they are authorized to operate, including all emergency systems and procedures associated with the aircraft.
  • Secure the aircraft after each flight, including arranging hangar storage if necessary.
  • Obtain the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS from a FAA flight service station or other authorized agency.
  • File or cause a flight plan to be filed with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
  • Analyze area, enroute, and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and alternates.
  • Perform the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator under the provision of the twelve five standard security program or private charter standard security program as applicable.
  • Conduct the required passenger safety briefings or assign that duty to the second in command.
  • Impart knowledge and skills to the second in command to prepare them to assume the duties of Pilot in Command in an emergency or when the second in command upgrades to pilot in command in that aircraft.
  • Complete and send the leg manifest to ops control prior to each departure.
  • Complete and send the End of DAY report to ops control upon completion of each flight day.
  • Support the open sharing of information on all safety issues and report all safety hazards and concerns.
  • Make an immediate report in any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the chief pilot and director of safety.
  • Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.

Requirements

  • Must possess an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
  • Obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical.
  • 4000 hours Total Fixed Wing.
  • 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land.
  • 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command.
  • 1500 hours Turbojet.
  • 1500 Turbine time.
  • 100 hours Night.
  • 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument.
  • 5 years of aviation experience.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules.
  • Willing and able to travel worldwide extensively, without any restrictions.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
