Description

Under general direction, the purpose of the position is to oversee the daily operation of skilled work involving the maintenance and repair of gasoline or diesel driven engines and related auto equipment, machinery and tools. Employees in this classification perform in a lead capacity and are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of garage facilities and equipment and efficiency of operations. Work includes performing and Fleet Technician duties.
Examples of Duties


Typical Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. Minimum four (4) years of responsible Lead Technician experience in automotive and heavy equipment/machinery maintenance and repair; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must possess and maintain a Class "B" with air brakes Florida Commercial Drivers License. Must possess and maintain A/C Recycling Certification. Must possess an ASE Certification of Master Technician Cars and Light Trucks or Med-Heavy Trucks. Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) certification preferred but not required.
Supplemental Information

Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe work place practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations, and traffic signals when driving.
