As an Engineering Manager, you will lead the Payments domain in our technology organization. This role is critical to ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient payment processing across our global e-commerce and retail ecosystem. You will be responsible for managing an engineering team. This team builds and operates payment APIs and services supporting various features, including credit cards, gift cards, Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), fraud detection, reconciliation, and in-store payment integrations.

About the Job

  • In this role, you will report into the Director, Engineering Levis.com Global Website.
  • Your primary responsibility will be to drive your team toward successful and efficient delivery of high-quality software, while fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • You will drive technical architecture and execution in alignment with our domain-driven design and direct-to-consumer strategy.
  • As an engineering leader, you will collaborate with product management, security, store teams, mobile app team, website teams, and external payment providers to deliver compliant and scalable payment solutions.
  • You'll work closely with Product Management, UX, and other stakeholders to define and deliver on a roadmap aligned with company objectives and customer needs.
  • Improve software development processes, implementing best practices for CI/CD, code reviews, automated testing, and deployment to streamline development and deployment cycles.
  • Champion a DevOps mindset, where the team not only builds but also runs and monitors their own applications in production, ensuring reliability, availability, and performance.
  • Track and report on team performance, KPIs, and quality metrics, ensuring a high level of transparency and focus on improvement areas.
  • Prioritize talent development and help with hiring new talent and grow engineers that are already at Levi Strauss & Co.™

About You

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years engineering experience, including hands-on software development and at least 2 years in a management or technical leadership role.
  • Experience working with Global teams around the world and support your global-capable platform.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in any of JavaScript, TypeScript, with a deep understanding of React Native Framework. Deep knowledge of GraphQL, RESTful APIs, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native services and managing CI /CD pipelines, DevOps best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Native mobile application development (iOS – Swift / Objective-C, Android – Kotlin / Java), UI Automation testing frameworks (Appium, Selenium)
  • Leadership: Track record of managing and motivating a team, fostering a productive, collaborative, and high-accountability environment.
  • Stakeholder Management: Experience working with cross-functional teams, especially Product and UX, to ensure cohesive product development and delivery.

This is a remote eligible role. The expected starting salary range for this role is $122,800 - $198,300 per year. We may pay more or less than the posted range based on the location of the role. The amount a employee will earn within the salary range will be based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, performance and our needs.
