ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1.  General - Responsible for learning to:
    • Deal with high-volume customer interactions and be consistently outgoing, upbeat, and cheerful.
    • Build guest relations throughout every shift by talking with customers, making them feel welcome and comfortable, and inviting them back.
    • Provide superior guest service, positively affect interactions with guests and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions and the ability to work effectively and courteously with fellow employees. 
    • Maintain "stage personality" for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to learn and deal casino games; employment is contingent upon successful completion of dealer training school (if required).
    • Deal game at a pace that delivers consistent, continuous action for guests. 
    • Acknowledge, greet and converse with guests who approach the Pit area. 
    • Must be able to create a fun, exciting atmosphere.
    • Must follow a detailed dress code and comply with all Company-mandated uniform requirements.
    • Assisting guest with seating and chip distribution.
    • Deal the game and monitor the monies on the table at all times.
    • Control gaming cards and equipment.
    • Monitor customer play for cheating scams and suspicious variations in play.
  1. Must be able to work a flexible schedule as required by business operations, including late nights, weekends, and holidays; shifts may change.
    • Assist in maintaining a spotless casino by disposing of any cups, glasses, bottles, or other items left on the floor by guests.
    • Perform other duties as assigned or reasonably requested by any member of management.
  2. Operating Principles: Ensure at all times operating principles are being adhered to: Clean - Keep all areas clean and pristine; Safe - Follow all safety policies and procedures; Friendly - Use customer courtesy skills of Family Style Service to provide superior guest service; Fun - Be interactive with all internal and external guests while maintaining professional standards.
  3. Tools and Technology:  Card tables, table game drop box, table chip tray, playing cards, playing chips, automatic shuffler, and desktop computer.
  4. Licensure:  Must be able to obtain and maintain a 1055 Slot/Cardroom/Pari-Mutuel Individual Combo Employee Occupational License.  Must be at least 21 years of age.  No taxes are required.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience:  Prior entertainer experience preferred.  Previous singing, dancing or dramatic performance a plus.  One to two years experience in a customer service position preferred. Must be 21 years of age or older.  Must be able to communicate in English.  Must have the ability to learn and deal casino games and be able to successfully complete dealer training school within the department. Must be willing to work any day of the week and any shift.  Team Member must follow a detailed dress code and comply with all Company-mandated uniform requirements, including those intended to complement and maintain an exciting themed atmosphere.
  2. Knowledge:  Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.  This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.  Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra and their applications.  Knowledge of gaming laws and regulations.
  3. Skills:  Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times; Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do; Talking to others to convey information effectively; Monitoring/Assessing performance of oneself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  1. Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to walk and stand; sit for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; and lift up to 10 pounds.  The team member must also frequently bend and reach and occasionally crouch or stoop.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  The team member is also required to make ongoing repetitive motions of the arms and hands. 

    At all times during Team Member's employment as a Dealertainer, each dealer must maintain a physical appearance that is, in the Company's sole judgment, appropriate for the required uniform. "Physical appearance appropriate for the required uniform" shall include a fit, well-defined body to include (for females) appropriate waist, breast, and hip proportion; (for males) appropriate upper chest, upper arms and waist proportion.

 

Exceptions for physical appearance requirements shall be made only for (i) pregnancies, (ii) disabilities covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Harrah's Pompano Beach Casino does not encourage cosmetic surgery for the purposes of achieving or maintaining any particular physical appearance.

  1. Work Environment:  The team member is within a casino environment, exposed to bright flashing lights, noise, smoke and varied temperatures.  Use of elevator and stairs.
