Overview:
The Marketing Automation Specialist plays a key role in executing the organization’s lifecycle marketing strategy by designing, managing, and optimizing multi‑channel nurturing campaigns. This role builds and maintains automated workflows across email, SMS, direct mail, and chat to ensure prospective and current students receive timely, relevant, and compliant communications throughout every stage of the customer journey.

Responsibilities:
  • Build, launch, and optimize automated email, SMS, direct mail, and chat nurturing campaigns
  • Manage day‑to‑day automation activities including creative setup, QA, testing, deployment, and performance monitoring
  • Ensure compliance with email, CRM, and institutional policies, including FERPA and CAN‑SPAM
  • Use AI tools for content creation, optimization, personalization, and testing
  • Collaborate with admissions, academic departments, creative teams, and vendors to support recruitment and retention goals
  • Conduct QA across devices/platforms and perform A/B testing to improve engagement and conversion metrics
  • Support customer‑journey mapping, campaign structuring, segmentation, and lifecycle strategy execution
  • Gather performance data, build simple dashboards, and prepare insights for marketing leadership
  • Assist with alumni, B2B/B2B2C, and occasional HR recruiting communications
  • Support project organization, timelines, and asset coordination across nurturing initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education / Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field (required)
  • Minimum three (3) years relevant marketing strategy and/or Customer experience/relationship management experience (required)
  • Minimum (1) one year of experience in digital marketing, preferably within higher-education or demand-generation environments (required)
  • Experience with A/B testing and basic statistical comprehension (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing platforms and principles (required)
