About the position

As a Management and Operations Specialist at the Department of Health and Human Services, you will play a crucial role in supporting the overall management and operations of the Office. This position is vital for ensuring that the office runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the CDC's mission of public health and health promotion. You will be responsible for developing, initiating, and implementing administrative policies and procedures for your assigned areas of responsibility. This includes coordinating and preparing briefing materials and background information for meetings, as well as responding to outside inquiries. Additionally, you will assist in the Security Services Office's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) activities, coordinating responses with other technical, regulatory, and policy units within the office. Your work will directly impact the effectiveness of the office's operations and its ability to respond to public health emergencies.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, advising management and staff on operational and administrative policies and procedures related to program and management functions.
  • Experience can include paid and unpaid work, including volunteer work through National Service programs and other organizations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in public health or health promotion fields.
  • Familiarity with federal acquisition policies and procedures.
