As a valued employee of Contour Airlines, the Flight Attendant will perform essential duties in an aircraft environment, adhering to all established standards, policies, laws, and regulations, including those set forth by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform work duties in an aircraft environment.
  • Adhere to established standards, policies, laws, and regulations, including FAA regulations.
  • Operate all galley/cabin service equipment and in-flight entertainment systems unsupervised.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to accomplish tasks.
  • Prioritize customer safety and comfort.
  • Provide exemplary customer service, exceeding expectations.
  • Assist with lifting and stowing luggage, soliciting assistance when needed.
  • Attend to individuals needing assistance, such as unaccompanied minors, individuals with disabilities, and the elderly.
  • Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and project a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrate dependability and commitment to work assignments.
  • Manage time effectively to complete tasks and maintain punctuality.
  • Understand and respond to written and oral communications and warnings.

  • Communicate effectively in writing to complete paperwork and detailed reports.
  • Adapt to a rotating schedule with variable days off and hours, potentially including duty days up to 16 hours.
  • Work nights, weekends, and holidays, with potential for extended periods away from home.
  • Sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
  • Retrieve and store items in overhead bins up to 67" from the floor.
  • Maintain the appearance of the aircraft's cabin, galley, and lavatory.
  • Restock the galley.
  • Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
  • Comply with tasks assigned by management or the Pilot-in-Command.
  • Respond effectively during emergency situations, implementing instructions from the flight deck and following safety procedures.
  • Guide passengers during emergencies, such as evacuations.
  • Provide emergency medical assistance, such as CPR and basic first aid.
  • Ensure aircraft and passenger compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and safety measures.
  • Communicate effectively through onboard announcements, safety demonstrations, and instructions.
  • Open emergency exits and close aircraft doors weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Push and pull heavy beverage/food carts requiring 32lbs of force.
  • Follow established procedures for restocking the aircraft, ordering catering items, checking expiration dates, and notifying leadership of low inventory.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 23 years of age or older.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and authorized to travel to and from the United States.
  • Three (3) years of corporate Cabin Attendant experience or prior experience as a Flight Attendant is required.
  • Must have a valid passport.
  • Must pass a DOT-required pre-employment drug screen and submit to DOT-mandated random drug and/or alcohol testing.
  • Able to pass a required 10-year work history review and submit to criminal history record and fingerprint checks.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Must successfully complete Contour's four (4) week Flight Attendant Initial Training Program and Initial Operating Experience.
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English. Bilingual is preferred but not required.
  • Must live within one (1) hour of assigned base.
  • Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Possess strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Must have well-developed people skills and the ability to work with a variety of personalities.
  • Able to coordinate multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Able to handle interruptions and a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Be self-motivated and able to motivate others.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, delivered with tact and professionalism.
  • Ability to work safely and professionally, adhering to all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulations.

Compensation and Benefits:

The starting annual salary for this position is $42,000.00, with eligibility for yearly increases based on performance up to $52,452.24. Pay incentives for additional trips worked or assigned may also be available.

Contour Airlines offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, vision, and dental coverage, short-term/long-term disability, voluntary life insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with a company match of up to 6%, paid sick leave, vested vacation hours, and non-revenue/space available (NRSA) travel privileges after six months of service. Employees are also eligible for various leaves of absence.
